The Energy Engineering course aims to train professionals with a solid base in Engineering and with an interdisciplinary view on energy, energy resources and on the impacts arising from their production and consumption, in order to work in the planning, implementation, optimization and management of energy systems, ensuring economic, social and environmental sustainability. The energy engineer deals with all forms of energy that make up the Brazilian energy matrix, whether renewable, such as hydro, solar, wind or biomass, or non-renewable, obtained from oil, coal, natural gas or radioactive material, such as uranium (used in nuclear power plants). The engineer act in the formulation of public policies for the energy sector, planning and development of energy generation, transmission and distribution systems, energy rationalization projects in the industrial sector, sugar and alcohol plants, companies that develop equipment for the use of alternative energies and in the professional education segment.
